Initial CPC is normally the route for new professional HGV drivers who do not have qualifying acquired rights.
Your driving licence and Driver CPC serve different purposes: the licence covers the vehicle you can drive, while CPC is the professional qualification required for most paid HGV driving. Some types of use are exempt.
