Here’s some of the main HGV licences we cover
- Category C+E Licence – you’ll hear this also referred to as a Class 1 licence or an arctic licence. This is our most popular licence as you have the most earning potential and can drive all HGV’s with this category.
- Category C Licence – also referred to as a Class 2 or a Rigid, this is our second most popular licence, there’s no trailer to worry about as the vehicle is one unit making it simpler and a great starter licence into the industry
- Category C1 – perfect for those looking at driving smaller HGV’s, this is typically used for horse-boxes, those driving an ambulance, motorhome or scaffolders.

Learning to drive an HGV requires a skilled and experienced training instructor to guide you through each aspect of handling a large vehicle safely.
Our team are approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to deliver training to drivers of all standards, our purpose built syllabus for new drivers is designed to help you pass first time.

Local HGV training to you with Drive HGV
With over 60 HGV training centres nationwide you’re never far from one of our training schools, you’ll complete all your training and tests local to you.
Your medical test is completed at one of our local nationwide team of doctors, with evening and weekend sessions available too.
Your theory test is completed at a local DVSA theory test centre, once you’ve passed your theory tests you’ll come down to your local HGV training centre to complete your training and driving test
